Our client was looking to find markets in Europe where existing codes and payment levels to providers could support the early introduction of their technology post CE-marking in order to immediately start generating revenues, while developing a strategy to obtain new codes and pass-through payments where necessary and available.

  • HTSS researched and interpreted applicable diagnosis and procedure codes for 6 markets, and verified for each market which codes were relevant to our client’s offering
  • We provided up-to-date information on how the new technology would map to payment levels and what local limitations on coverage were relevant, together with the options for improving this in the short and medium term

Based on our analysis the client decided to launch initially in three markets while establishing specific coding in one further country. Given the difficulties of accessing suitable funding in the two remaining markets the client postponed the launch there, in order to make the best use of their limited commercialisation budget.
